The paper describes the results of a recent project entitled “DOCET - EQF-CDIO Correspondence Model for the Recognition and Enhancement of Engineering Degrees”.
Freshmen of engineering curricula present, at their arrival, the lack of basic knowledge along with an unfocused degree of curiosity regarding specific and valuable or crucial engineering themes.
All B.Eng. courses offered at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU) must now follow CDIO standards. The final “capstone” course in the B.Eng.
Defining customer needs; considering technology, enterprise strategy, and regulations; developing concepts, techniques and business plans.
Creating the design; the plans, drawings, and algorithms that describe what will be implemented.
The transformation of the design into the product, including manufacturing, coding, testing and validation.
Using the implemented product to deliver the intended value, including maintaining, evolving and retiring the system.
